My Quince fall clothing review through a Soft Summer lens: muted colors, honest first impressions, real-life fit notes, and everyday outfit formulas.
My Quince review at a glance
- Sage alpaca turtleneck: a fitted silhouette I like with wide-leg jeans; long-term wear and pilling are still being tested.
- Striped cotton crewneck: my easy, relaxed everyday pick in Ivory/Sky Blue Stripe.
- Raspberry rugby sweater: a fun color experiment, though the preppy style is outside my usual comfort zone.
- Gray cashmere crewneck: versatile and soft; my earlier Quince cashmere needed occasional depilling.
- Vintage-pink silk skirt: my favorite outfit pairing with the gray sweater. I chose a medium; wash-and-wear results are still to come.
These are personal first impressions. Read on for the fit notes, styling formulas, and what I’m watching as I wear each piece.

Beautiful fabrics without the designer price tag? Okay, Quince, you have my attention.
I’ve worked in fashion for years, including Levi’s, Michael Kors, Bloomingdale’s, and even seasonal holiday sales at Gucci just to name a few. I’ve also worked as a senior stylist for Stitch Fix and Short Story, so I know a thing or two about clothing, fit, merchandising, and retail pricing.
And let me tell you, I’ve seen some serious retail markups!
One thing I appreciate about Quince is how they break down their pricing approach on their website. They explain how their business model helps keep prices lower and show estimated comparisons with traditional retail prices.
Now, those comparisons are Quince’s own estimates, not guaranteed savings. But I appreciate that they’re having a conversation about value.
Because I’ve learned that expensive doesn’t automatically mean better.
Intentional shopping isn’t about buying cheap. It’s about buying wisely.
Quince also offers a generous 365-day return window for most eligible items, subject to their return conditions. That kind of flexibility is especially nice when shopping online.
Another thing I love? Their selection of capsule wardrobe pieces.
From cashmere sweaters and cozy knits to denim, jackets, and accessories, there are so many timeless pieces to explore. Their organic cotton tees and underwear are staples in my wardrobe. They also offer a variety of colors, which I appreciate because I love shopping with my color season in mind.
I’m a Soft Summer, and I naturally gravitate toward those softer, cooler, more muted shades that make me glow. Explore my Soft Summer colors for fall for more ways to wear them.
But I’m not a perfectionist about it.
You’ll still catch me wearing black.
This fall, I decided to order a few Quince pieces to refresh my wardrobe, and I’m excited to share what I genuinely think.
This isn’t a sponsored review. These are my personal first impressions, real-life styling ideas, and honest thoughts about the pieces I chose.

Dressing for the Life I Actually Live
Before we get into the clothes, let’s talk about something that’s become increasingly important to me: intentional shopping.
I love fashion. Always have, always will.
But these days, I’m much more thoughtful about what I bring into my wardrobe.
I’m a born and raised California girl living in the Pacific Northwest. I work from home, I’m part owner of a local co-op, and my everyday lifestyle is pretty casual.
Think natural fibers, comfortable sweaters, great jeans, sneakers, and pieces that make me feel put together without trying too hard.
It’s my laid-back, boujee hippie life, and I love it!
But I have to dress for it.
I’m not shopping for some imaginary lifestyle where I’m attending glamorous events every night.
Most days, I’m working from home, running errands, grabbing groceries at the co-op, or enjoying the outdoors and the slower pace of life here in Oregon.
That doesn’t mean I don’t want beautiful clothes.
It means I want beautiful clothes that actually make sense for my life.
This fall, I needed some new sweaters, so I wanted to find pieces that worked with my existing wardrobe, came in beautiful Soft Summer shades, and could be styled more than one way.
And that’s where my little Quince refresh began.
What My Years in Fashion Taught Me About Shopping for Quality
After years in fashion, I’ve learned to look beyond the label: how a piece feels, fits, works with my wardrobe, and holds up over time. I love natural fibers, but I still check the composition and care instructions. And yes, sometimes I buy blends. I’m an 80/20 girl, remember? The best value is something I feel comfortable in and actually wear. With that in mind, here are my Quince picks!
1. The Sage Green Baby Alpaca Turtle Neck Sweater
Shop the sage alpaca sweater →

Okay, this color!
I absolutely love this muted sage green.
It’s soft, understated, and such a beautiful addition to my wardrobe.
The sweater feels cozy and has a more fitted silhouette, which I really appreciate.
I’m typically a little curvier through my hips, somewhere between a pear shape and an hourglass, so I love pairing a more fitted top with my favorite wide-leg jeans.
It creates a nice balance without feeling overly styled.
And the color works beautifully with the softer shades I naturally gravitate toward as a Soft Summer.
I’m particularly excited about this sweater because alpaca is actually a new fabric for me.
I’ve worn plenty of cashmere, wool, and cotton over the years, but I haven’t really explored alpaca.
So this is going to be a little fabric experiment!
I love the initial look and feel, but I’m curious to see how it performs with regular wear.
I’ll update you on the softness, pilling, comfort, and how well it holds its shape after following the care instructions.
Because I want to know if it’s something I’d buy again.
My styling formula:
Sage alpaca sweater + my favorite wide-leg Levi’s + comfortable fall shoes or boots.
Why it works: The fitted sweater creates definition through the upper body while the wider denim gives the outfit a relaxed, balanced silhouette.
It’s a great starting point for women who are curvier through the hips, although personal comfort and preference always come first.
This is exactly the kind of everyday outfit I love.
2. The Organic Cotton Striped Crewneck Sweater
Shop the striped cotton sweater →

Now this one feels so me!
The classic stripes, the relaxed fit, and that beautiful soft blue.
I love everything about the easy, casual vibe.
Is the cream my absolute perfect Soft Summer white?
Probably not.
But you know what? I don’t care. Ha ha!
I love the blue, I love the stripe, and I love how this sweater fits my actual lifestyle.
That’s something I want to remind you about color analysis.
Your color palette should help you get dressed, not make you afraid to wear something you love.
I use my Soft Summer palette as a guide because I enjoy finding colors that complement my natural coloring.
But if I love a sweater and it makes me feel good, I’m going to wear it.
This is the kind of sweater I’ll throw on with my favorite jeans and sneakers to run to the co-op for groceries.
It’s casual, classic, and completely effortless.
My styling formula: The casual uniform
Blue-and-cream striped sweater + light-wash wide-leg jeans + white sneakers.
Why it works: The stripe adds visual interest without needing extra accessories. The shorter sweater length also works nicely with the wider jeans, keeping the proportions balanced.
And honestly, I love an outfit that doesn’t require overthinking.
This is my Pacific Northwest uniform.
Comfortable, a little polished, and easy breezy.

3. The Cotton Cashmere Rugby Sweater
Shop the raspberry rugby sweater →

Okay, this one is a little outside my usual style.
Rugby sweaters have been trending, and I thought it would be fun to give the look a try.
But I’m going to be completely honest.
It’s a little preppy for me!
My personal style usually leans more relaxed, feminine, and slightly boho.
But the muted raspberry color caught my eye.
It’s such a pretty, softened version of a rich berry shade, and I thought it would be fun to experiment.
I styled it with my light-wash wide-leg jeans and sneakers, which made the outfit feel more casual and more like something I’d actually wear.
And I have another styling idea!
I think this sweater would look so cute with Birkenstock Bostons or a pair of loafers.
Those would give it a fun, slightly preppy twist.
I’m still manifesting those shoes, though. Ha ha!
So for now, I’m working with what I already own.
My styling formula: Make a trend your own
Muted raspberry rugby sweater + relaxed denim + sneakers, Bostons, or loafers.
Why it works: When you’re experimenting with a trend, pair it with familiar wardrobe staples you already love.
That way, you can try something new without feeling like you’re wearing a completely different person’s clothes.
I’m still deciding whether this sweater will become a regular part of my wardrobe.
And that’s okay!
Sometimes you have to try something on to discover whether you love the trend or just love the idea of it.
4. The Gray Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
Shop the gray cashmere sweater →
This isn’t my first experience with Quince Mongolian cashmere.
A few years ago, I purchased a black cashmere sweater with matching joggers.
I absolutely loved that set!
I wore it all the time.
And yes, black. Even though I’m a Soft Summer, I still love a good black outfit.
Now, was the cashmere quality perfect?
No.
I did have to remove pilling a few times.
That’s something I want to be honest about.
Pilling can happen with cashmere, especially in areas where fabric rubs against itself, but I still pay attention to how much maintenance a piece requires.
Even with the pilling, I felt the set was a good value because I wore it so often.
This time, I decided to try the gray sweater.
Gray is one of those neutrals I love because it’s versatile, softer than black, and easy to pair with so many other colors.
And this particular gray works beautifully with the washable silk skirt I ordered.
I’m especially curious to see whether Quince’s cashmere quality has changed since I purchased my original set.
I’ll be paying attention to softness, pilling, shape, and how it holds up over time.
For now, I’m really enjoying the look and feel.
And paired with the silk skirt?
That’s where the sweater really shines!
5. The Washable Silk Midi Skirt That Stole My Heart

Okay, let’s talk about my favorite outfit from this entire Quince Edit.

So naturally, I had to recreate it in real life.

A cozy gray cashmere sweater, a beautiful silk midi skirt, and casual white sneakers. And I absolutely love how it turned out!
Let’s talk about the fit.
I’m typically a pear shape, bordering on hourglass.
I’m slightly fuller through my hips and usually wear a size 6–8 on the bottom and a 4–6 on top.
I ordered the washable silk midi skirt in a medium, and I think I chose the perfect size.
The waistband is stretchy, which makes it really comfortable.
And the fabric drapes beautifully without feeling restrictive.
It’s easy breezy!
I don’t want to spend my day pulling at a skirt or adjusting my waistband.
I want to feel comfortable and cute.
And this skirt gives me both.
One of the things that really excited me about this skirt is that it’s washable silk! That means I save a trip and some money. No dry cleaners needed.
I love beautiful fabrics, but I also want clothes that fit my real life. The fact that this skirt is designed to be washable makes it even more appealing.
Beautiful, comfortable, versatile, and potentially easier to care for? Yes, please!
Now, I’m especially curious to see how the silk holds up after washing. Will it keep its beautiful drape and softness? Will the sheen stay the same?
I’ll be following Quince’s care instructions and reporting back after a few washes.
Because a piece isn’t truly practical just because it looks beautiful. It needs to work for my everyday life, too.
That’s my kind of intentional luxury!
How I’d style the washable silk skirt from day to date night
This is one of my favorite things to teach when it comes to building a versatile wardrobe.
You don’t always need a completely different outfit for every occasion.
Sometimes you just need to change a few details.
Daytime: Casual and effortless
- Gray cashmere sweater
- Silk midi skirt
- White Nike sneakers or On Clouds
- A casual everyday bag
The contrast between the cozy sweater and silky skirt is what makes this outfit interesting.
The sneakers make it comfortable and relaxed enough for lunch, errands, or a casual afternoon.
Date night: A little more boujee
- The same silk midi skirt
- Gray cashmere sweater or a fitted top
- Heels or heeled boots
- Delicate silver jewelry
- A beautiful small handbag
I could easily keep the gray sweater for a cozy dinner outfit.
Or, if I wanted to dress things up a little more, I could switch to a fitted top and heels.
Same skirt. Completely different energy.
The styling lesson: Mixing textures and changing accessories can transform an outfit without requiring an entirely new wardrobe.
That’s exactly the kind of versatility I look for when shopping intentionally.

You don’t have to buy the exact pieces I’m wearing to recreate these looks.
Start with what you already own!
Formula 1: Cozy Meets Silk
Soft knit sweater + silk midi skirt + sneakers
Mix contrasting textures for an effortless elevated-casual outfit.
Style tip: Let the fabric contrast do the work. A cozy knit and fluid silk create enough visual interest without needing bold patterns.
Formula 2: The Casual Uniform
Classic striped sweater + wide-leg jeans + sneakers
An everyday outfit that feels put together without trying too hard.
Style tip: Pay attention to where your sweater ends in relation to your jeans. A shorter or lightly tucked sweater can create beautiful proportions with a wider leg.
Formula 3: Soft Color, Defined Shape
Fitted muted-color sweater + high-rise wide-leg denim
Simple, comfortable, and especially flattering when you enjoy defining your waist.
Style tip: Combining one fitted piece with one relaxed piece is an easy way to create balance.
Formula 4: A Trend, Your Way
Rugby sweater + relaxed denim + casual shoes
Try something current without abandoning your personal style.
Style tip: Pair a trendy piece with basics you already love. If you can’t imagine wearing it regularly, it may be a trend you appreciate rather than one you need to own.
My Five-Question Intentional Shopping Filter
Before I bring something new into my wardrobe, I like to ask myself five questions.
- Does this fit my real lifestyle? Will I actually have places to wear it?
- Will I still want it once the excitement wears off? Am I buying it because I love it or because it’s trending?
- Can I style it at least three ways with what I already own? I want pieces that work together.
- Do the color, fit, and fabric feel right for me? Not necessarily perfect, but something I genuinely feel good wearing.
- Does it make sense for my budget right now? Just because I love it doesn’t mean I need it today.
My general guideline is that four or five yes answers make something a strong purchase candidate.
But the budget question is still important. If something doesn’t fit my budget, it can stay on my wish list.
Because intentional living isn’t about never wanting anything.
It’s about being thoughtful with what you choose.
What’s Next on My Quince Wish List?
Of course, I still have a wish list!
I mean, I love beautiful things. Ha ha!
But one thing I’m learning is that I can want everything without buying everything all at once.
There are a few Quince pieces I’m manifesting for my wardrobe. Affiliate link: Click the wish list picture to explore my curated Quince favorites on ShopMy. I may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

The Quince jeans
I’ve been wanting to try the straight-leg and wide-leg denim styles.
But I recently purchased some new Levi’s, so I decided to enjoy those first.
The Quince jeans can stay on my holiday wish list, birthday wish list, or manifesting list.
No rush!
The white leather sneakers
Shop the white leather sneakers →
I really wanted a pair of Quince white leather sneakers to wear with my washable silk midi skirt and gray sweater.
But I already own white Nikes, and I recently purchased On Clouds.
And guess what?
Both worked beautifully with the outfit.
So I couldn’t justify another pair of white sneakers right now.
That’s intentional shopping in real life.
The Italian Suede Crescent Bag
Okay, this one has my attention!
I want that gray crescent suede bag so badly.
I love the soft neutral color, the texture, and how beautifully it could work with my wardrobe.
Definitely one I’m keeping on my wish list.
The Jackets
There are a couple of Quince jackets I’m eyeing, too.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, a beautiful, practical jacket is something I can genuinely get plenty of wear from.
So those are high on my list for future wardrobe additions.
The Washable Silk Tiered Maxi Dress
Okay, this one is definitely calling my name!
I love a beautiful maxi dress, especially one that feels feminine, effortless, and comfortable enough for my laid-back Pacific Northwest lifestyle.
I’m also curious about how the fabric will hold up over time. Since I’m already testing the washable silk midi skirt I purchased, I want to see how that wears and washes before adding another beautiful piece to my wardrobe.
That’s intentional shopping, right? I can love something, put it on my wish list, and still wait until the timing makes sense.
For now, this beauty is staying on my manifesting list!
Shop My Quince Wish List on ShopMy
And that’s the beautiful thing about having a wish list.
You can appreciate something, save it, and revisit it later.
You don’t have to buy everything the moment you discover it.
Final Thoughts: Beautiful Pieces for Real Life
This little Quince refresh gave me pieces that feel like me and fit the life I actually live. These are still my first impressions, and I’ll share updates as I wear and care for them—especially the alpaca, cashmere, and washable silk.
I still love beautiful things. I still love a little luxury. I’m just becoming more intentional about what deserves a place in my closet.
Not less. Better chosen.
Wear what you love. Wear it again.
With love,
Sara
